Despite its impressive size, which can reach 18 meters, the whale shark is a docile and gentle giant. It feeds solely on plankton, filtering the water with its enormous mouth, making it completely harmless to humans. Its docility is such that it allows swimmers to approach and experience a unique moment of connection. Each whale shark has a unique pattern of white spots, like a fingerprint. This pattern does not change over time and allows biologists to identify and track each individual. When swimming with them, you are not only experiencing an adventure, but also witnessing a protected natural phenomenon. The species is classified as "threatened," and we operate under strict regulations to ensure its conservation and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is seeing the whale shark guaranteed?

As this is wildlife, sightings cannot be 100% guaranteed. However, the season from May to September has an extremely high success rate, and our expert captains know the best areas to maximize the chances of an unforgettable encounter.

Can you touch whale sharks?

No. To protect these docile animals and in accordance with official regulations, touching them is strictly prohibited. We must maintain a respectful distance so as not to disturb their natural behavior.

What should I bring on the tour?

We recommend bringing a towel, hat or cap, sunglasses, waterproof camera, and, very importantly, only using biodegradable sunscreen to protect marine ecosystems. If you get seasick easily, consider taking a seasickness pill before setting sail.

Is it dangerous to swim with them?

Not at all. They are known as "gentle giants" for a reason. They are filter feeders that have no interest in humans and are very peaceful. The biggest risk is wanting to stay in the water with them.
